Here To Help

The Staff at SGM Caravan Sales are here to help guide you through the process of buying a Holiday Home. Whether you are a long suffering, seasoned Holiday Home Owner, or a first time buyer, we are always on hand to offer guidance or to just have a chat.

There are a few steps to follow when choosing to buy a Holiday Home

Step 1

Choose the area of the country that you want to go to.

We recommend that this is usually within 1 to 2 hours travel from your home. This is far enough away that you feel like you are away, but close enough to get home quickly should you need to. Any further than this and once the novelty wears off, the travelling will be the main thing that stops you from using your Holiday Home on a regular basis.

Step 2

Find a Park in that Area.

There are a lot of Caravan Parks out there. Most have their own web-sites and are linked to numerous "site finder" sites. This is an excellent place to start looking. You need to decide what type of Park you want and what facilities you require.

We are able to offer advice to help you decide upon a suitable Park, should you wish, before you start to visit any Parks that may be of interest to you.

Step 3

Visit the Parks.

The only way you can find out what a Park is like is by visiting it.

Most Parks would like it if you call first and arrange an appointment. This allows the Park Owner the opportunity to dedicate time specifically for you, to show you the Park and any available pitches.

The Pitch you choose will dictate what size Holiday Home you are allowed to have.

You will have the opportunity to discuss important issues such as;

1. Costs.

Over and above the cost of a Holiday Home, you need to ask about Transporting, Siting and Connection fees for a Holiday Home. Is Decking included within any initial costs and what are the Annual Site Fees, Rates, Gas, Electric and yearly Insurance costs?

Ask for a breakdown of these costs so that you are able to compare them once you have all the information from the Parks that you have visited.

2. Park Rules.

This covers a range of important issues that you need to know such as the length of the season, sub-letting arrangements if applicable, expected behaviour when on site, are Children encouraged to stay on the site?, are Pets allowed?, speed limits on Parks etc. Ask if there are any rules that may only apply to that particular Park or the facilities included.

Such rules are there to enable you to enjoy your time at your Holiday Home and will give you a lot of the information you require to make an informed choice.

Step 4

Choose your Holiday Home.

Once you have chosen the Park and the pitch, you are now in a position to select a Holiday Home.

This is where SGM Caravan Sales come to the fore.

With our no-nonsense approach, we will discuss your requirements and help you to find a suitable Holiday Home to meet your needs and more importantly, your budget.

We will help you decide about other additional features that you may require when you come to view the range of Atlas and Willerby Holiday Homes that we have on display.

One feature that is becoming more important to our Customers and Park Owners is the length of any WARRANTY being given as standard with a new Holiday Home.
